September Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop!!!

Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop

 bloghop header

Welcome to the SG Blog Hop for September, if this is your first stop, you might like to start at the Scrapbook Generation blog and then hop through each link. For my layout, I chose to use a sketch from the Alison Davis 6x6 sketch class, found HERE in the SG online store. LOVE LOVE LOVE this class. There are 60+ ladies over at the ScrapNYap forums all taking this class together and posting our "homework" and sharing love of each others pages. It's sooo much fun and VERY motivating. We have been doing 2 sketches per week and I got off track due to some projects due at my LSS so I'm behind on sketches #5 and #6. For the hop I decided to combine my class homework and my blog hop homework. I am using sketch #6 and a My Mind's Eye 6x6 pad. Here's the layout (please excuse the bad lighting - it's waaayyyy past my bedtime and I'm just now getting this posted):
 6x6_6
And here's where I was at after I attached my papers and my photos. I ended up rotating the sketch as it just wasn't working with my photos. And the sketch called for 6x4 photos that stretched across the page...dang it wal-mart and their wonky photo sizes, that was NOT going to work for me. So I just adapted the sketch to work for what I did have. Easy peasy.

I also used larger photos where the sketch used 2x2's. Since I was so pressed for time, I opted for simple embellishments from My Mind's eye and short journaling and some thickers for my title (which I also move the placement of).

You can find the SG sketches in their books and as downloads in the SG store, and there is a free one every month in case you wanted to try it out. I totally recommend trying a free sketch if you have never used their products before. I LOVE them so much. And the best part is that you can either follow the sketches exactly OR use them as a jumping off point (like I did) and use the sketch more as an idea - whether it be your photo placement, your layers, clusters, journaling, etc.

Next on the hop is Corrina , leave a comment on each blog and one lucky commenter will receive a free sketch bundle of their choice from the store. The winner will be draw on September 9th, so you have one week to leave a comment. In case you get lost at any point, here is the list of all the blogs:
